4TH OF JULY & HIKE TO THE "L"

Happy 4th of July!

This was p-day last week.

We found some petroglyphs and went for a short hike with the elders.

It was so dry and hot and looked like Utah.

Some elders gave us a box of pumpkin and Sister Broomhead made the most delicious soup out of it!  Got me excited for fall again :) I miss my seasons.

We love our delicious purple sweet potatoes!  So good! Do they have these in Utah?

On the 4th we had a few lessons, stopped by uncles house....

and then we had fun just hanging out with the missionaries at the church.

The sunset that night was so beautiful!!!!!

much prettier than any of the fireworks!

Lahaina is the only place on Maui that has fireworks so the entire island came here the night of the 4th of July.  It was crazy!  We watched them from the church and stayed away from the crowds which was good.

Maui Zone with glow sticks for the fourth... we played capture the flag in the dark :) So fun!

This was our sisters dinner night!

We went to sushi!

 It is so delicious!

We tried all sorts of crazy things.

This was the start of our crazy safari p-day hike from today!

We were literally crawling through the bushes and then hiking straight up a mountain......SO FUN!

Of course we totally beat the elders :) We love hiking :) We made it all the way to the "L"...4 hours later :)

We were beat!
